There is a small switch on the front of the controller you use to swap between the first profile and the second one. Then you assign 2 of them at a time to your controller. You can save as many profiles as you want, and name them how you choose.

You save all your custom settings to a profile. It allows you to customize everything, from the controller name, the brightness of the xbox button, to all the button assignments and different settings for the control sticks (I'd keep those at default to start).

It will explain in the instructions, or there will be a QR code to take you there if you have a kinect I think.

I forget how to get to it initially, but there's an app you need to download on the xbox. Trying to explain what I mean like there's no setting it up, they're just automatically set up to use those as the alternative? (if that made sense). So for the paddles (i'm assuming those are the things under the controller?) how do you set them up to do "speed burst" and "poke check/saucer" unless it's just tied into the setup that the bumpers are. I haven't opened it up yet, but I'm looking forward to using it. I think I'd bump it too often accidentally. I use the regular dpad, not the circular one. I thought it would help me be more precise with aiming, but it really just made it more cumbersome to move around. I used to use the dome thumbstick on the left (it's a little taller than the default) but I stopped.

Top left paddle is stack pads, top right is dive. Bottom left/right paddles for precision movement (which is on by default, so pressing either lets me move faster). On the second profile, I setup goalie controlls.įor goalie, I forget what the original buttons were, but I have RT as butterfly, LT as post hug. Right paddle is RB (poke check/saucer pass).

Left paddle is left stick click (speed burst). I use the default thumbstick calibration.įor skaters, I use the two top paddles on the back. I like the feel of the thumb sticks better, they feel a little tighter.ĭon't use the trigger stops, at least for RT, it will mess with your passing. First off, even without all the bells and whistles, it just feels like a better controller. Improved pivoting, accelation and agility for skating.I love it. Better puck dynamics for smoother pickups and better pass reception. Either way, goalies do look good in this trailer. This time, it looks like they've tried to make sure you have different options as a goalie, either by relying on positioning and "being in the way" of the shot or by relying on athletic moves and timing. Goalie animations are again a focus for the team at EA. Giving the defender the option to ever so slightly lift the forwards stick could go a long way towards evening out the odds. This could of course also give the forwards some new looks, being able to spin off tie-ups to go for deflections etc. I can tell you it's been quite frustrating as an offensive defenseman trying to wrestle big powerforwards in front of the net in NHL 16. Net battles have the potential to make us defenders competitive in front of the net again.
